Flu

ugh.
no fun.
Big Daddy has been dragging himself to work all week, feeling terrible. Moops spiked a fever of 103+ a couple of times. It hit me Wednesday night. Little Miss has a bit of a cough today...
Luckily, though, KK and E-Man aren't sick. They've been so helpful this week; cooking, walking the dogs, feeding and watering the ducks.
The poor ducks, their water bowls were completely frozen this morning! 19 degrees.
brrrrrr

What E-Man is reading

I'm so glad he decided to read something other than Hank the Cowdog. As soon as he read the first one, E-Man's plan was to read through all the Hank books (there are 48!).
Oh.
My.
Now don't get me wrong, I like Hank and all, he's a good dog - and funny, too. But there's a lot of great children's literature out there just waiting to be read. Variety is the spice of life, 'eh?
Don't worry Hank, we'll get to #3 It's a Dog's Life soon.

News Flash!

The countdown has begun!

Our current read-aloud

The Golden Goblet, by Eloise Jarvis McGraw. We're enjoying this story about Ranofer, a young Egyptian boy, who uncovers a terrible secret about his half-brother.
Well...
I should say we're enjoying every third or fourth word of this story. That's about all that can be heard over the babbling and squeeeeeeling of a certain 18 month-old. Yes, read-aloud time takes on a whole new meaning with a toddler in the house. Maybe I should start calling it read-LOUD time.
